Parkchair

ideation

In order to create a park bench that stands out from all other benches, we went in search of solutions beyond the boundaries of production possibilities. Designing a product like this requires a wide range of ideas and a deep vision of the end product. The ideas that got existence during this project were meant to be translated into visual sketches which provided us with insight to come up with more similar ideas.

inspiration

At the moment we got in the park, we got inspired by the environment around the place where the bench should be placed. Trees, shrubs and tree branches have contributed to our vision and following development steps.

generative design

During the project we designed the park chair with generative design software. We took this step because we wanted to make the impossible aspects in the production possible. To be specific, to design a park chair with low material usage and the highest strong-stiff properties. By using as little material as possible, we can significantly reduce the contribution to CO2 production emissions. This chair will be placed in the park, which means that it must be ”green” besides other trees.

Widek Green Grip

brainstorming

During brainstorming sessions we visualized a specific number of bicycle handle ideas. First these ideas were traditionally put on paper and after as a design concept in 3D CAD.

grip pattern

The pattern at the grip surface was designed with small styled Widek logos. This in order to make the brand features visible on the product of its own company.

concept

The concept of Widek Green Grip was developed in a 3D CAD software. This allowed us to demonstrate shape, proportions, details and material properties of future prototype.

prototype

To create a real prototype we 3D printed the CAD models into actual objects that can be examined in real life circumstances. This allowed us to set up a precise test model that lastly were presented to the client.

Maestro

maestro

music tool

For Studio Tast we have focused us on designing a housing for the Maestro concept. Maestro is a product that must have a stimulating role in music education in primary schools. It’s important that children, after a brief explanation of teachers, understand how the playtool works. Making music takes place through programmed tiles. By placing tiles in a specific order, they are able to transmit a signal to the computer. Hereafter the computer sends the signal to output actuators. This way the music comes to life.

DESIGN

Maestro’s design is a housing made of plastic casing, wooden tiles and wooden cover that also serves as a protection for storage space of the tiles.

brand

Maestro project was meant to design the housing and improve visual properties of the look and feel of product. The appearance of the product should match the core aspects of music, culture and education. In short, simple, educational and fun.

assembly

Maestro is an assembly product that is made from a certain amount of housing parts that were put together in a specific order. This results ease of its use and a simple way to disassemble and repair the product.
